Rezumat
Trăiește Evul Mediu în toată splendoarea sa plină de sânge. De la pajiștile luxuriante din Europa de Vest la deșerturile aride din Africa de Nord, de la prima cruciadă la căderea Constantinopolului, pune în aplicare diplomația, folosește comerțul, spionajul și asasinatele, răspândește-ți religia și poartă un război total pentru a-ți extinde influența și a-ți asigura domnia în timp ce construiești un imperiu dinastic care să se întindă pe parcursul a patru secole.
Total War este continuarea jocului Shogun- Total War din 2000. La fel ca în cazul Shogun, jocul este împărțit în două secțiuni - harta campaniei pe rând, în care jucătorul trebuie să ia decizii strategice, să recruteze și să mute armatele, să asedieze așezări, să lupte în bătălii navale și să angajeze agenți precum emisari, spioni și asasini pentru a ajuta la diplomație, a oferi alianțe sau mită sau a executa acțiuni mai degrabă clandestine.
Religia este importantă în joc și dacă o facțiune este musulmană, ortodoxă sau creștină va afecta alianțele și loialitatea publică - ca națiune catolică, jucătorul trebuie să îndeplinească dorințele statelor papale, îmbarcându-se într-un război sfânt dacă este nevoie, altfel riscă să fie excomunicat. În cazul în care ordinea publică și loialitatea ar trebui să scadă prea mult într-o anumită regiune, poate apărea o rebeliune sau un război civil - în aceste situații, jucătorul poate decide să fie de partea rebelilor sau a conducătorilor actuali pentru a înăbuși rebeliunea sau pentru a răsturna un regim tiranic-.

Great simulator , very fun. Large scope , wonderful graphics. I have not had any bug problems which seem to have plagued many people. Great simulator , very fun. Large scope , wonderful graphics. Love that it is not run and gun but slow and deliberate tactics in gun battles.

Everything that was released after this became bloated, shined up and streamlined for the graphic whore children of today. The classic game board style, while not offering as many specific placements as the newer games, had a great design and Risk-like charm of its own that's sorely missing with all the newer mediocre games CA keep churning out. The AI was also superior to its sequels in the campaign map and with the XL mod, this game will last you for ages. If you have an older PC or video card, stick with this one.
